Thomas Nelsen “Video MishMash” (USA)

This piece is a series of vignettes created from 2020 to 2023 comprised of 3D animation and soundtracks. Inspiration is drawn from science fiction paperbacks, video games, and public domain horror movies in a series that is both somber and absurd.

Chrissy Espinoza “Ghost Whispers” (USA)

Ghost Whispers is an eerie black and white video that takes viewers on an unearthly walk through a haunted house in the historic town of Virginia City, Nevada. The video captures the essence of the paranormal and ghostly tales that surround this iconic location. As the video begins, the screen fades in, revealing the weathered interior of the haunted house. The camera slowly pans through the creaking wooden doors and walls, inviting viewers to venture into the unknown. As the video reaches its end, the camera leads viewers back through the house’s winding corridors, capturing the heart-pounding moments when supernatural forces make their presence known and whisper in her ear. Music by the talented Grace Cooper (Grace Sings Sludge) of Oakland, CA.

Milton Croissant “The Canon” (USA)

Animated score to legendary producer Craig Leon’s album “The Canon”

Katy Taylor “Daydream in Libby” (USA)

“Daydream in Libby” is a 13-minute short film shot on a consumer-grade digital camcorder during the artist’s 2014 family trip to rural Libby, Montana. The film both juxta- and contraposes images of serene natural environments, eavesdropped conversations, and fragments of everyday life to explore themes of mortality, posterity, memory, and meaning.

John Golter “Swoon(USA)

The 2D animation static and glitchy feel follows the glacial movements of the graceful water fowl in a battleship pose across water.

Polina Saran “Untitled” (Russia/Latvia)

This video collage made of variety stock footage that have been decontextualized to create a vibrant motion images to tackle audience's imagination.
